Professor Amal El Kharouf started her career in 1986 as a member in the General directorate for Planning, Research and Educational Development Department of the Ministry of Education. In 1989 she was appointed as the Head of the Educational, “Cultural and Scientific Activities Department” which was part of the National committee for Science and Culture, Ministry of Education. In the same year she joined Human Resource Development Centre as Researcher until 1997 where she was working as a researcher and responsible for Educational Data base analysis. Upon graduation with a Ph.D. in Socio-economics in 1999 she worked as a Director of Human resources and Information System Project in NCHRE. In 2000 Prof. Amal was appointed in the post graduate faculty as the Dean assistant of. Computer affairs and social issues at Jordan universities.  During that period she also worked with the UNISCO as a data analyst consultant. Within her career at the Jordan University, Prof. Amal El Kharouf was appointed in 2003 as Coordinator for Jordanian Executive Committee for Arab Women Summit as a part time assignment in the Royal Hashemite court. Within her career at the Jordan University, Prof. Amal El Kharouf was appointed in 2015 as Academic Consultant. at Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman University, Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. (Feb. 2015 to May 2016).

Today Prof. Amal is Professor Doctor in women’s studies centre, Post Graduate Faculty at the University of Jordan. She teaches a wide variety of courses such as: Women and development, gender issues, women in society, research methods and introduction to women studies. Among other courses in social studies. In addition to Prof. Amal’s responsibilities; she actively participates in workshops and training courses since 1993 till to date (around 25 workshops participating as a trainer, and attending more than 30 workshops). As a researcher Prof. Amal has done more than 42 research in a wide variety of subjects, specially women’s issues and affairs, Women & Development. Prof. Amal also wrote three books “Factors influencing the employment of women, from the view of employed women and managers In Amman City” UNIFEM &UNESCO 2000 .And “General Education Indicators in Jordan” National Center for Educational Research and Development 1994, and Gender Mainstreaming in the Works of the Parliament. A project that support the development of institutional ability for the parliament secretarial in the House of the Parliaments, UNDP program, 2009. In addition to that, She is also an independent researcher in a lot of projects locally and regionally.
