Seifallah RANDJBAR-DAEMI is Deputy Director of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy. After receiving a PhD in theoretical physics from Imperial College of London and working at the ICTP and institutes of theoretical physics in Vienna, Bern and Zurich, S. Randjbar-Daemi joined the Center as a permanent scientific staff member in 1988 and became the Head of its High Energy Physics section in 1994 and maintained this position up to 2012. S. Randjbar-Daemi has worked on super string theory, higher dimensional theories of gravity and gauge theories. Recently he has been interested in infrared modifications of gravity.
