The scholarships are for engineering and scientific students from universities in the Middle East and North Africa to pursue postgraduate studies (PHD) at leading scientific universities, institutes, doctoral and experimental research at CERN.
By enabling future scientific leaders to access specialised higher education institutions, the Foundation supports their training and invests in future agents of change in their own countries – “brain gain”.

Number of scholarships funded: 2 to 3 / per year
Cost: CHF 50,000 / per year / per scholarship
Funding: total cost of study for 3 years including accommodation, travel costs, monthly allowance for food and insurance cover.
