João A. PEÇAS LOPES is Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University (FEUP). He is presently member of the board of Directors of INESC Porto. He is also Director of the Sustainable Energy Systems PhD program in Portugal and FEUP. He was the leader of several R&D projects, consulting projects and contracts with the industry in Portugal and abroad. His main domains of research are presently related with large scale integration of renewable power sources, Off-shore wind generation, power system dynamics, microgeneration and microgrids, smartmetering and electric vehicle grid integration. He is author or coauthor of more than 250 papers and co-editor and co-author of the book “Electric Vehicle Integration into Modern Power Networks” edited by Springer.
